BLACK HOLE AND THE UN

ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΑ (GREEK) TÜRKÇE (TURKISH)

The traditional meeting for the opening of the UN General Assembly is taking place in New York. All humanity is worried about a new, third world war. The war between Russia – Ukraine. We are in a setting whereby the fascist government in Israel is now pushing the limits of a new and wider regional war with its attacks on Lebanon while still unsatisfied with the genocide it is committing against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the bloodshed it has caused. For this reason, the UN meeting is currently the focal point of peace expectations. This meeting also helps us keep our hopes alive in our potential contribution to overcoming the stagnation in the Cyprus problem.

Not long ago, scientists announced the discovery of a new and hitherto unknown pair of Black Holes in the space around us; the biggest ones in the Universe. They calculated that the length of this pair of Black Holes, which they named ‘Porphyrion’, is 23 million light years. So what does this mean? It is more than 140 times bigger than our Milky Way Galaxy, which contains more than 100 solar systems similar to our Solar System including Earth. In other words, not only our Earth, but even our Solar System and Galaxy are like little dots in the vastness of the Universe, and our Earth is microscopic in size.  In this very big and vast universe, humanity is still searching for a planet similar to our earth, or a planet where organic life exists. It has not yet been declared that this has been found. We keep searching and searching.

In other words, we are still unique in this vastness, and for this reason we are very lucky. On such a beautiful planet, as intelligent beings, we still exist without finding our counterparts, and life on another planet. Despite this, we are unable to properly experience the beauty of existing in this precious world of microscopic size in this vast Universe due to wars, injustices, barbaric rage at the individual and social level, and disparities. With the ambition of those who hold power in their hands to be the greatest, we make an effort to crush, destroy and strip each other of our identity on the grounds of different colours, beliefs, languages, opinions, and social status. Moreover, we are also destroying the nature of this beautiful world, whose likeness we are unable to find in this great Universe. We are in such a state.

For this reason, a new world war, or regional wars, especially a nuclear war in a technologically sophisticated world means dragging this unique planet in the vastness of the Universe to destruction, and pushing it to extinction with our own hands. Regardless of one’s beliefs, what person of common sense who has had the chance to exist in this world could cultivate events that would destroy its value? This is why, it is the most important duty to strive for Peace and Justice at Home and in the World. If this meeting at the UN contributes to this, it will add the most important value to the world and humanity.
