ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΑ (GREEK) TÜRKÇE (TURKISH)
The Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu met with the Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid… He thanked Israel for the support it gave to Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to put out the forest fires… “Israel took a decision to send two aircraft to assist in putting out the fire in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. We thank you,” he said…
-*-*-
Minister Çavuşoğlu failed to mention the following truth: Israel provided this assistance to the Republic of Cyprus, “not the TRNC”…
This is the truth which is being hidden or which wants to be hidden from us…
Because Oren Anolik, the Israeli Ambassador to Nicosia, announced that it was the Republic of Cyprus who had put in the official request for those two aircraft.
-*-*-
There is another truth that Çavuşoğlu failed to mention or “deliberately chose not to mention”; Turkey, never in its history has asked Israel or any other country, “to recognize the TRNC.”
-*-*-
Should anyone ask, “Why should such a request be made to Israel?” let me just say it would be because Turkey openly supports a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestinian problem…
-*-*-
Meanwhile, Fuat Oktay [Translator’s note: Turkish Vice President] was in the TRNC…
He visited Morphou…
There, at the entrance of a building, he was greeted by the team “which bow and scrap for a post in the next cabinet” also commonly referred to as “TRNC Council of Ministers”.
How sad, what a pitiful sight that was…
-*-*-
Anyway, there was another group waiting at the building’s entrance…
Around 15 of them…
They chanted the slogan “The … si of Cyprus Fuat Oktay”…
I really tried hard to find a word that ended with the letters “…si”.
First, I thought I heard them chant “The valisi (governor) of Cyprus Fuat Oktay”…
I put on earphones and listened again, only to notice they were chanting “The abisi (big brother) of Cyprus Fuat Oktay (Translator’s note: ‘Abi’ in Turkish is a term used to address someone older or senior as a sign of respect).
I came home only to learn that that was not what they were saying. They were chanting “The hamisi (protector) of Cyprus Fuat Oktay”…
-*-*-
Big brother (abi), governor (vali), protector (hami)…
Abi means, “older brother”; someone according to our traditions who holds an important position or a person who requires respect…
Hami was the “name” of the legendary football player of Trabzonspor… But the context it was used here, “…means a person who supports, who looks out for, who backs up and protects others, protector”…
Governor: according to Turkish Administrative Law, “is the highest-ranking administrator in a province, tasked with carrying out administrative affairs on behalf of the government”…
“I would respect him if he was an older brother (abi)…”
“I would thank him if he was a protector (hami)”.
“I don’t know what I would do if he was a governor (vali).”
But I don’t think he is the governor. I believe the duty of the governor is being carried out by the “Ambassador”…
-*-*-
Do you know the point I want to make?
That if Fuat Oktay is truly a big brother, governor, or protector; the TRNC is not a “sovereign and independent equal state”…
-*-*-
And naturally, I’m trying to explain this issue by giving two simple examples, but neither Fuat Oktay’s “stature” nor the agenda or the actions of the Turkish Foreign Ministry imply a sense of a “sovereign and independent equal state.”
-*-*-
They’re making Ersin Tatar say it; they made him say it yesterday…
“Sir, the TRNC is an independent, sovereign, and equal state… Just as much as the Republic of Cyprus…”
But where is it?
Where is the sovereignty?
Who contacted Israel?
Why has Çavuşoğlu not asked for “recognition”?
Why is Fuat Oktay not a “guest visiting from a friendly country” but a “big brother, a protector or a governor”?
-*-*-
No one should try and fool anyone!
And no one should think that the Turkish Cypriot community is Ersin Tatar!
-*-*-
Of course, you are free to do as you please to destroy us or maintain the status quo…
But let it be known that until the last Turkish Cypriot falls, just like with the Mohicans who made a stand until they were wiped out, we will continue to wage a struggle for a lasting solution and peace in Cyprus.
His only supporters are anti-Cypriot trolls
If he walked on water across the sea from Kyrenia to Taşucu; they would say, “He doesn’t know how to swim”!
-*-*-
Even if he, like Moses, were to hold out his staff from the shores of Kyrenia, parting the sea all the way to Anamur, succeeding in connecting the TRNC with Turkey through “land”, they will still rebuff his accomplishment, making the comment “as if this is something to be proud of”.
-*-*-
He has made so many blunders!
So many mistakes!
-*-*-
Firstly, he failed to become a “leader” …
Then he couldn’t help becoming the “puppet” of two or three Turkish public servants.
-*-*-
He failed to break his ties with his party.
He failed to embrace everyone.
He created “outsiders” and took pride in attacking them.
-*-*-
He rejected a solution.
And as he distanced himself from the negotiations he became “redundant” and ruined the reputation of the “Presidency”.
-*-*-
Under conditions of an extremely bad economy and climate of desperation, he pursued a fake policy promoting the motherland and failed to go beyond empty statements and conspicuous buffoonery.
-*-*-
The citizen clearly saw it all and easily understood that what was being said was nothing more than empty narratives.
-*-*-
From here on, even if he works miracles; creates a tsunami with his farts or puts out fires by peeing, no one in this country respects him or will respect him.
-*-*-
To such an extent that, the media in general but particularly those on social media are more upset seeing him smiling, than they are about his delay in requesting air assistance from the Republic of Cyprus or turning down its offer to help on land (Translator’s note: Tatar was photographed smiling during a helicopter flyover inspection of the forest fire near Flamoudi).
And his own community’s open hatred grows even stronger when his supporters on the same social media platforms are nothing more than anti-Cypriot trolls…
[Translator’s note: inserted photograph displays a fire fighting aircraft battling flames over the affected area]
Thousands of donums of green forest have been burned to ashes… We are talking about the dangers of global warming. The United Nations Environment Programme in a report published in February issued a warning about the risks of large wildfires. The report said “the rising temperatures on the planet are transforming some of the most iconic spots into scorched tin cans” … Measures anyone? In the TRNC? By our current government and our so-called leader? I have no hope or in other words no expectations… Byzantine intrigues do not include measures to prevent fires. The only thing they excel in is making empty statements.
