There have been no changes made. As it was in the past, access can only be through the crossing points agreed upon by the two sides. We are ensuring violations are prevented and the status of the buffer zone is protected. We are working with both sides to facilitate civilian access to the buffer zone and we are committed to work with the two sides.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>-*-*-<\/p>\n<p>In short, the UN Peacekeeping Force is not allowing the creation of new access points to the Taksim Field.<br \/>\nSo sit down, discuss and reach an agreement!<br \/>\nNo! \u201cWe\u2019ll take care of it\u201d is what our hawks are saying!<\/p>\n<p>-*-*-<\/p>\n<p>The hawks actually have one goal: \u201cTo create tensions\u201d&#8230;<br \/>\nWell, then whose interests do these tensions serve?<br \/>\nQuite obviously not ours!<br \/>\nWell then, are those creating the tensions idiots?<br \/>\nNo, they\u2019re not; \u201cWhat can they do, they\u2019re Erdo\u011fan\u2019s bootlickers!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ah that EOKA B ahhhh!!!!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The man is saying, \u201cCriticize the Greek Cypriots as well&#8230; you don\u2019t criticize them at all&#8230;\u201d<br \/>\nFirstly: I criticize them quite a bit, it\u2019s clear that this person doesn\u2019t follow [<em>me<\/em>], he is just trolling me&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>-*-*-<\/p>\n<p>Secondly: Let\u2019s say I\u2019m not criticizing them; would I be wrong for not doing so?<br \/>\nBecause, is it the Greek Cypriots who have been tricking us all these years?<br \/>\nIs it the Greek Cypriots who are telling our women, \u201cYou should be your men\u2019s slaves\u201d?<br \/>\nIs it the Greek Cypriots who are trying to use us for political, strategic and economic interests?<br \/>\nI know you\u2019re going to get angry when I ask this but, \u201cIs it the Greek Cypriots who are exploiting us?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>-*-*-<\/p>\n<p>Come out if I say Ge\u00e7itkale [<em>Lefkoniko<\/em>], eat an apple if I say Lefkoniko! [<em>Translator<\/em><em>\u2019<\/em><em>s note: based on a Turkish rhyme for children<\/em>]<br \/>\nDo you see?<br \/>\nA truly Martin Niem\u00f6ller situation&#8230;<br \/>\nPeople never knew that \u201cone day it will be the turn of those who remain silent in the face of today\u2019s injustices\u201d!<\/p>\n<p>-*-*-<\/p>\n<p>I think Mr Asil [<em>Nadir<\/em>] didn\u2019t know either&#8230;<br \/>\nIt\u2019s as if the words that began with, \u201cFirst they came for the Communists and I did not speak out because I was not a Communist&#8230;\u201d were written for Mr Asil&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>-*-*-<\/p>\n<p>Anyway!<br \/>\nMy dears, get off my case; please take a look at yourselves:<br \/>\nLet\u2019s say that Yorgos, the new Archbishop of the Greek Cypriot Orthodox Church said; \u201c&#8230;Turkish Cypriot women will give themselves to their men whenever they ask for it: The Bible commands it so&#8230;\u201d<br \/>\nWould \u201cyou\u201d or Erhan Ar\u0131kl\u0131; say: \u201cThis is freedom of thought\u201d?<\/p>\n<p>-*-*-<\/p>\n<p>One last question; Anastasiades is stepping down soon&#8230;<br \/>\nIf he were to say, just before he leaves, \u201cTurkish Cypriots are lazy, spoon-fed parasites;<br \/>\nWho would be better, Erdo\u011fan or HIM?<br \/>\nGet over it&#8230;<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s always the Greek Cypriots\u2019 fault!<br \/>\nThat\u2019s right!<br \/>\nIt is always that wretched EOKA B!<br \/>\nJust sit the hell down!<br \/>\nMay God wipe them off the face of this earth!<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Economist: Erdo<\/strong><strong>\u011f<\/strong><strong>an could foment fiercer territorial quarrels with Greece and Cyprus<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The prestigious weekly British journal The Economist, in its latest edition dated January 21, 2023, published an article on Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan\u2019s regime.<br \/>\nThe headline on the cover reads: \u201cTurkey\u2019s looming dictatorship: A special report on Erdo\u011fan\u2019s empire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>-*-*-<\/p>\n<p>The cover of The Economist was prepared by Eiko Ojala. Ojala\u2019s front page illustration shows the crescent on the Turkish flag merging into Erdo\u011fan\u2019s silhouette.<\/p>\n<p>-*-*-<\/p>\n<p>The Economist said \u201cTurkey is on the edge of becoming a full-blown dictatorship,\u201d calling on Western leaders to speak out against Erdo\u011fan\u2019s \u2018anti democratic\u2019 moves while saying it was not too late \u201cto pull Erdo\u011fan back from the brink.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>-*-*-<\/p>\n<p>According to The Economist, \u201cWestern leaders\u201d or the \u201cUS and the EU\u201d, \u201c&#8230;have too often held back from criticizing Erdo\u011fan for fear of alienating a pivotal if troublesome ally.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>-*-*-<\/p>\n<p>Again, according to The Economist, \u201c&#8230; No one wants a country as important as Turkey to go completely \u2018rogue\u2019. All are aware that a resentful, isolated <strong>Turkish president could do great mischief.
