You know how sometimes a guest is politely told, “make yourself at home…”
Well…
I guess there’s a measure for that…
If the host begins to feel like a ‘guest’, the measure has been lost.

I wonder what the President of the Supreme Court will say to my proposal.
He went to the groundbreaking ceremony of his own building as a ‘guest’…
The organisation, which should have belonged to the host, was handled by another authority from another country.
How can the principles of democracy, social justice and the rule of law be protected under such conditions?
Where do the separation of powers and secularism stand?

The new building of the Supreme Court Presidency is explained by the minister of another country.
Even the presenter comes from abroad…
Local actors become guests in their own country, while foreign guests are decision-makers…
For example, when the new hospital is being explained, the Minister of Health is not even given the floor.

A mise-en-scene is set up and the authorities are called to the stage…
And an imam…
He recites prayers.
This country has no such tradition…
They impose it.
Especially the head of the main opposition is being set up…
The Supreme Court, religion, the state, the kulliye, secularism, politics and so on… It all becomes meaningless.

‘This country is ours… We will rule it…’
We’re shouting at the top of our lungs.
It’s not enough.
We don’t see the future.
It’s hazy, foggy, fuzzy!
In the dilemma of ‘is it harder to go or harder to stay’, those who stay look at those who go, those who cannot go face hardships.
We are not giving up, of course…

Two years ago, I called this picture ‘bowing and scraping equal sovereign international status’…
As we keep saying ‘This country is ours’…
They say ‘It’s not yours, it’s ours.’
With bismillah, fatiha, prayers, anthem…
“You lead, but we’ll give the instructions.”
They want obedience…
Not objection…
In this way, they are establishing their own administration…

You know how ten thousand of us marched in Nicosia…
We became hopeful, proud, we regained our self-confidence…
There should be tens of thousands…
Hundreds of thousands…
We must be able to grow with much more courage, determination and belonging against those who rudely attack our word, our will, our values and our existence.
We should be able to multiply with much more wisdom, patience and dialogue.
We should be able to be content with our own means and learn to stand on our own feet while focusing on production.
We must get to know the real creators and protectors of this order, those who feed on this corrupt conduct, the self-seeking who lack dignity and those who are dishonourable. We must distinguish between the good and the bad… We must protect the people, institutions and organisations that will create a new country, change this false order and build a dignified future…
And certainly…
The guest should know how to be a guest…
Courtesy only goes so far…
