Sir, do you love this country?
And when we say this country,
Do you mean this state?
The island of Cyprus?
The Republic of Cyprus?
Or, the TRNC?
-*-*-
Either the brother, or the sister, it doesn’t matter!
Love whichever one you want!
-*-*-
Are we in the TRNC right now?
Yes!
Then, please love the TRNC!
At least a little!
-*-*-
Let this message go to powerholders in Turkey, too!
Please!
If you really love this place and never stop talking about it, and if you truly believe what you say, then stop condoning what is happening!
-*-*-
And what is happening?
Brother, there is no stability left in any sector, or politics in this country!
-*-*-
You have messed up the Cyprus issue; your ‘two-state’ policy is over!
Admit it!
You have disgraced yourselves!
Even your own brothers have sold you out and abandoned you!
-*-*-
You have ruined education!
You have destroyed the reputation of universities!
But what hurts the most is that our children who graduated in this country, or abroad, are not staying here, they do not want to stay!
-*-*-
You have played with the lives of our children!
You are still playing!
-*-*-
You have ruined the finances!
You have taken on debts that cannot be paid, and you are still talking nonsense left and right without any shame, or hesitation!
-*-*-
It seems like you’re bringing in dirty money, profiting from it, and making one last desperate move!
No decent human being could say what you’re doing is right!
-*-*-
You can’t even pay our children’s scholarships!
In a few months, you won’t be able to pay salaries!
-*-*-
You dealt such a blow to the real estate sector that no one can sell their properties anymore. All the foreign customers have fled; even those who bought earlier have sold whatever they might have!
-*-*-
The Orthodox Church you have so vilified, the most fascist Greek Cypriot organisations, any Greek Cypriot politician—none of them could have caused as much damage to our real estate sector as you have with a single legislative change, even if they tried for fifty years!
-*-*-
Tourism is in a state of complete chaos…
With absurd, unrealistic, and completely imaginary statements, this sector cannot move forward…
-*-*-
So, what needs to be done?
First, you must resign!
First and foremost, the Minister of Interior who made the mistake regarding the real estate law, the Minister of Education responsible for the chaos in education, and the Minister of Tourism who doesn’t even know what he’s talking about along with his colleague who oversaw the worst financial management in history!
And of course, the Prime Minister and the President, who are ultimately responsible for all of this!
-*-*-
Please!
Admit it!
You have dragged this country in an untenable situation and are even harming your own party!
-*-*-
Yes, the National Unity Party (UBP) is in disarray…
The party cannot even hold proper meetings, let alone implement the decisions it makes…
Make a decision: is Ersin Tatar your candidate, or not?
-*-*-
Is the decision you made a few weeks ago in this regard still valid, or has it been revoked?
-*-*-
Actually, we are writing in vain!
The best course of action is not to wait for your resignation, or an immediate decision on early elections, but for all party members and representatives of the affected sectors to be present at the rally on Friday…
-*-*-
UBP members must also take to the streets!
Because they are also citizens of this country, and it is clear what their government has done to cause so much devastation!
Their children are also suffering from the ongoing injustices!
-*-*-
Let us support the general strike on Friday!
Let us fill the streets, the avenues, and the whole of Nicosia with our voices on Friday!
Let us gather in front of the old Peyak buildings!
-*-*-
Believe me, the lesson you will teach the UBP and its two supporting parties will return to this country as something good!
-*-*-
Theft, immorality, bribery, and sketchy relationships must come to an end…
The UBP needs this the most!
Let this party suffer a major defeat; let this party not even nominate a candidate for the presidency!
-*-*-
I am very serious and confident; change is essential in this country!
Let us no longer tolerate a leader who is ridiculed and a government that is accused by everyone in this country…
-*-*-
There is no discipline, or love for the country left in the UBP, and if this needs to be restored, it is inevitable that this party must remain in opposition for at least two terms and create much younger, much more dynamic cadres…
-*-*-
Turkey?
No one can say that Turkey is unaware of the schemes being hatched here!
Either they are also benefiting from this filth, this mess, or their duty is to give orders to those accustomed to this system and put an end to this corrupt regime!
-*-*-
I am borrowing the following words from dear Hüseyin Ekmekçi: “Please do love this country…’
And go!
-*-*-
Clear the way for your party and stop ruining this country any further!
Don’t be afraid!
You can take your seats with you when you leave!
Because you’ve made such a mess that no one else can sit there!
