We have been writing for weeks;
Images, photos, videos, workers’ own statements, complaints reported to the police, site visits made by civil organizations….
And so much more…
Hunger, beatings, threats, peddling hope, bribery, fraud, human trafficking, slavery…
And many more…
We have exposed the gang of fraudsters, human traffickers, those who make millions of euros off of labourers, who make poor workers sell their houses and cars so that they can pay 8-10 thousand euros per person, deceive them with the promise of smuggling them to Europe (the south), or promise “8 hours of work, good salary, good accommodation, good living conditions” to those who pay 3-5 thousand euros.
These people are hungry…
It’s not even a kennel where they were thrown into…
They have not been paid any salaries…
Most of them have not even worked yet…
Their passports were confiscated…
Thousands of euros were taken from them…
They were deceived…
Those who wanted to file a complaint were threatened and beaten…
The police simply watched…
The ministry watched…
Those who could intervene have become partners in crime…
The people of the region were left on their own…
A Ponzi scheme has been created off of poor labourers.
Some people got rich.
The police are involved,
The Security Forces Command have turned a blind eye,
Politicians are involved,
Bureaucrats are involved,
Media vultures are at the centre of it all…
So, we have uncovered it all…
We said, whoever is complicit in this crime should be tried.
We wanted it to be exposed, we wanted the public to know…
Let this cruelty come to an end…
For justice to be done,
We wanted to unmask these fake authorities,
Inhumane, fake heroes,
Fake politicians.
We said, our country’s name should not be associated with a scandal,
An abomination of this sort…
Then some people started to attack…
Because the gang is big, the gang is strong…
If one falls, it will give the others away.
If one squeals, the others will also go down.
Because one of them makes a request for workers through his company,
The other one organizes it from Bangladesh,
One of them takes care of things at the Ministry,
The other brings the workers here,
And they all get their own share…
In the end, everything turned out the way we expected,
They all stuck together.
If no one spoke,
If no one got arrested,
Nobody would get caught,
No one would end up in jail…
And of course, there was also the party congress [Editor’s note: reference to UBP party congress on 21 September 2024].
How could anyone let it come in harm’s way?
How could anyone cast a shadow on it?
The whole incident became news in Turkey, in the south…
Everyone talked about this inhumane scandal…
What happened in the north, though?
Gang members, blinded by anger, started to make threats,
Then came the offers of bribes…
When these offers were not accepted, they mobilized their men in the media sector…
They tried to discredit the news and those who made the news in order to cover up the scandal, which was so clear and obvious that nothing could actually cover it up…
It didn’t work.
It couldn’t be covered up.
And then some of them ran away.
Because it was clear that it could never be covered up…
Gang members who made millions of euros off of poor labourers would eventually be unmasked…
Of course, society and those who consider themselves to be ‘enlightened, educated and knowledgeable’ would realise who they were following and what they believed in.
The masks would fall…
Now, that time has come…
The gang is cracking…
Some are running away,
Some of them are still threatening other gang members by saying, “If I go down, you will all go down”…
Some of them continue to attack us with the journalists they can lure…
This process has come to this day, one way, or another.
There is an ongoing police investigation.
We will see what the outcome is going to be.
Shout as much as you want,
Perform all the jingoism you wish,
Be as nasty as you like,
Buy whoever you want, manufacture whatever kind of news that you want.
It’s over.
You will all be prosecuted…
