THE TURKISH CYPRIOTS WHO WON THE WAR AND THE GREEK CYPRIOTS WHO LOST!

ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΑ (GREEK) TÜRKÇE (TURKISH)

It’s 1974!

A group of stupid Greek Cypriot fascists, along with another group of even more fascist and stupid Greeks, committed the greatest betrayal of the past century against Cyprus!

It was July 15th!

-*-*-

And so, guarantor Turkey, citing this betrayal as a reason, conducted two military operations in the same year, taking control of the Northern part of the island of Cyprus, which encompasses approximately 40% of its territory.

-*-*-

First all of the Turkish Cypriots and then in the following couple of years and without any interruption afterwards, immigrants from Turkey were settled in the North!

-*-*-

Almost all of the Greek Cypriots, Maronites, Armenians, and Latins were sent to the South!

The island was divided into two, based on ethnicity!

And on geography!

-*-*-

A state, abbreviated as KTFD [Turkish Federated State of Cyprus] was declared in the North!

Eight years later, another state was established under the abbreviation TRNC.

And that state is still considered to “exist”!

By whom is it considered to “exist”?

I would say a group of plundering thieves, but let’s not go there, as they will be offended!

-*-*-

What happened in the South?

We can say that the South “appropriated the Republic of Cyprus established in 1960″…

We could also say that the “legal state” was left to the Greek Cypriots!

-*-*-

The states established in the North and the rodents that exploited the North stole and sold everything they could find…

They dried up the water reserves, and choked the country with unplanned and haphazard construction leading to concrete pollution and harmful development that destroys the environment!

-*-*-

They added bribery to the theft, the embezzlement, and selling off [of everything]…

They signed off big tenders and profited from them…

They took out loans from public banks but did not pay them back…

Thanks to those who greatly benefited from the so-called state’s resources and those who were repeatedly deceived, those who were “anti-solution and who were looters” remained in power, all or most of the time.

-*-*-

And here we are in July 2023…

The whole world recognizes the state in the South…

The state in the South is a member of the European Union…

They have two excellent airports open to international flights…

They built magnificent ports, transforming Limassol Port in particular into the most important spot in the Eastern Mediterranean.

-*-*-

They have reached a level where they can compete with global giants in tourism…

They have never allowed the quality of education to drop.

They have never disappointed any of their citizens in terms of healthcare…

There certainly must have been emergency patients transferred to motherland Greece, but they did not leave behind millions of dollars of unpaid debts to private hospitals there…

-*-*-

Greek Cypriots did not become a minority in the state they live in…

Greece did not formulate the domestic and foreign policies of Greek Cypriots, carry out their tenders, or build their ports or roads!

Even the most Hellenistic fascist who identifies as “I am Greek, not Cypriot!” did not accept any interference from politicians in Greece in the most Hellenist nationalist parties of the Greek Cypriots!

-*-*-

Of course, they supported AEK, Olympiacos, and Panathinaikos too, but they never gave up on Omonia, Apoel, AEL, Anorthosis, Nea Salamina, Aris and Apollon…

-*-*-

They called Sheftali kebab “Sheftalia”, owning it, not allowing its reputation to be tarnished by calling it “Chef Ali”… [Translator’s note: Author makes reference to unproven claims in Turkey that the name of the Cypriot kebab derived from Chef Ali]

They called what we call Pilavuna, Flauna, owning it…

They saved Hellim [Halloumi]…

Now they are keeping our gas stations, markets, restaurants, and even pharmacies running!

-*-*-

Water was a problem, they solved it…

They built 34 dams…

-*-*-

They have no electricity problems; sometimes they even sell their excess production to us; now they are preparing to make an agreement to sell it to Israel…

-*-*-

They have a state, they have [internationally recognized] IDs and passports; you won’t find a single Greek Cypriot waiting in line at the TRNC Interior Ministry’s Immigration Department  to get a TRNC passport or ID card, but it’s quite possible that you might run into those governing the TRNC, Ersin Tatar and his family waiting in line at the passport office in the South!

And the most painful part is that you can see those from Turkey who resort to all kinds of tricks to become citizens of the Republic of Cyprus!

-*-*-

There is not a single Greek Cypriot working in the TRNC!

The official number of Turks working in the South is 3,000…

I believe the unofficial number of those working or the number of those working in hotels during the summer months  is at least 6,000…

-*-*-

There is not a single Greek Cypriot receiving pension from the TRNC!

There are hundreds of elderly Turkish Cypriots receiving pension from the government in the South!

In 1974, when they [Greek Cypriots] left everything behind and fled to the South, they left close to 200 functioning factories in the North…

In the Morphou area alone, they abandoned the world’s best citrus orchards…

There were about 10 state and privately-owned orange packaging factories in this area…

We dried up the orchards, bankrupted the factories, and closed them down…

And those “lackeys”, like Ersin Tatar I mentioned in the previous paragraph, who was appointed by Turkey, and others say, “The TRNC is a success story!”

-*-*-

I laugh…

Do you know, today is Bayram [Eid Al-Adha]…

The most important holiday in the Islamic world…

And believe me, the economy in the North is so bad, the currency is so worthless that it will be the Orthodox Greek Cypriots who will celebrate the holiday while the Muslim Turkish Cypriots watch!

Happy holidays!

-*-*-

The TRNC is no success story, it is a fiasco!

Embargoes and isolations?

Still considering them as excuses is the biggest failure after 1974…

Why did Ali Başman lose?

His opponent was undoubtedly very strong…

But if the UBP had made even the slightest move, Başman would have definitely won…

So why didn’t the UBP make any moves?

-*-*-

Because all of the UBP’s [National Unity Party] members, except for Ersin Tatar and Ünal Üstel (UBP party leader), are fed up with a series of “disgraceful scandals” such as “appointments, interventions, coups, bribery allegations, tender allegations” that have left their mark in the recent period…

In addition to being fed up, serious UBP members are “ashamed” of both Tatar and Üstel…

The ones responsible for Başman’s election loss are Tatar and Üstel…

Their withdrawal from politics would be beneficial for both the UBP and in general the Turkish Cypriot community…

(I don’t know about Turkey…)
