Why the need for so many “armed” men?

One: Turkish Cypriots have never been in the habit of attacking any foreign official and they have never had such objectives… We might stage protests but we are no supporters of killing or hurting people… I’m sorry, I don’t want to sound “discriminatory” but that’s something you would do… After all, all these soldiers and armed security are because you know nothing else! It is because you are the ones who are really frightened!

Two: If you are aiming to scare us, there is no need… You’ve left nothing that scares us! What should we be afraid of? What is the meaning of fear if we know the ending?

And I would like to ask one final question before wrapping up this issue:
“Why do you want to scare us? We are all respectful when it comes to being obedient and paying homage!”…

On the other hand, aren’t those from Paphos, Limassol and Larnaca lucky?
They can hop into their cars whenever they wish and drive up to see their villages!
Or hire a bus and organise group excursions to their villages …

In the 30 years that passed from 1974 to 2004, Turkish Cypriot refugees weren’t that lucky as they could not visit their villages, not by bus, minibus, tractor, bicycle, car or even walking…
It was forbidden to go.
It was forbidden to cross.
Now they visit these places. They visit them like museums or historic sites, the houses they were born in or their ruins and return…

The Greek Cypriots also do the same, they drive up to see their old homes, and their old villages and then return…
Greek or Turkish Cypriots cannot stay in their own houses, cannot plant their own fields…
But, for example, neither the houses left behind by those from Trabzon in Turkey nor the houses and gardens given to them here, can be questioned.
What should be done?
The Cyprus problem should be solved and everyone living in this country should be able to call their house their “home”…
No one is able to do so at the moment and will not be able to do so until a solution is reached…
Truly, could Turkish Cypriot refugees from Paphos one day say “we too want flights?”
