LET’S GET OUT OF THE COFFIN

ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΑ (GREEK) TÜRKÇE (TURKISH)

Illegal.
That’s the definition, that’s the problem, that’s the reality.
Τhis system, this order, this place they call “state”, is this!
If we do not accept the fact that we are “Illegal” and if we do not change this, we will not embrace a lasting system but only temporary happiness.
We are paying a heavy price for living segregated and rogue on a piece of land that is a sham, where order and fraud intersect.
But, we have no other country!
We shouldered the sorrow, the rottenness, the mediocrity, the unlawfulness and the banality…
And we are being crushed underneath this weight…

***
The artist Ümit İnatçı made an important analogy.
The TRNC is a coffin,” he said…
With every solution not approved by the international community, your right to life is limited within the boundaries that someone else has drawn.
Even if that someone is your flesh and blood, captivity is inevitable.
At this rate, the rift and tension will grow even more in this half of the island; half will turn towards the Republic of Cyprus, and half towards the Republic of Turkey…
As the saying goes, neither annexation nor a patch!
[Translators note: The term ‘patch’ is often used to refer to absorption into the RoC].
And the path leads exactly towards these two…

***
And then there is also the following.
We are committing a great injustice against future generations if we call those incompetent, insignificant and irresolute people who are tasked with running this country  “puppets” but fail to hold the “puppeteer” responsible for all this collapse and destruction.
I am of course aware and can see that there are people in this country who refuse to become a “puppet” and possess the political capacity, resources and skills to do much better.
Yes, such people exist but it’s difficult to make progress if this “illegal” basis isn’t removed…

***
Let’s get out of the coffin.
They will bury us all!

It is not wanted for us to have direct access to the world

When I was abroad, I learned that another Turkish Cypriot was denied access into Turkey…
I was saddened.
What harm has Abdullah Kormazhan done to anyone, he is an immaculate person…
We all witnessed together the helplessness of the “TRNC Foreign Minister”…
Go and ask the embassy,” he said.
It’s because that’s what he always does!
The whole world knows that he became a minister on Ankara’s orders…
Who can he dare hold accountable?

***

It’s been a while since I travelled to Turkey.
And I will not do so!
Not until this despotism ends…
Why should we make a fool of ourselves…
What do you expect from a country that ranks 103rd in the EIU World Democracy Index?
It received 32 points over 100 in the Freedom House’s World Freedom Report, listing together with Uganda and Haiti under the category of “Countries Without Freedom”.
We’re not making these reports up.

***

We have both European Union membership and passports…
We have the chance to access the world through Larnaca or Paphos…
Fine, but half of the north’s population is not as fortunate…

***

That is why the proposal of the UN is being rejected.
As they don’t want us to have direct access to the world…
Because then, the “doors” will open and they will no longer have “control”.
No longer will they be holding the reins!

Difference in democracy

Resignations are coming in one after the other in the UK…
Ministers are stepping down one by one.
On grounds that they no longer have any “confidence in the Prime Minister”.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s resignation is now definite.
This is all happening, not because of his madness and authoritarianism but because Johnson hosted private parties at his home during the global pandemic.
However, the person who brought a private group to “trnc” during the pandemic via private jet by violating the quarantine rules was appointed as “Prime Minister”.
And to top it up, the report prepared by the police and prosecutor’s office was swept under the rug…
This is the difference in democracy!
