SALIVA AND PARIAH!

This post is also available in: ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΑ (GREEK) TÜRKÇE (TURKISH)

If you carry on like this, you’ll come to a sticky end, they told our children, so they know, it won’t go on like this. –

This is an unnoble greed!

Wandering around nobly…

***

They tell a story.

A politician at a tavern table.

His whisky in front of him…

A head of onion and a Head(!).

The phone rings…

It’s the chief” calling.

He immediately spits out his whisky, rinses his mouth with water.

Hello!… Yes, sir…

Don’t panic,says the other…

He can’t smell anything on the phone…

***

Hello…

Let’s win this election…

Which one…

You wouldn’t understand…

***

Now it’s Kasımpaşa’s turn.

It will play a match!

Not with Yenicami…

With Apoel…

The new politics will reveal itself(!)

(What a coincidence, a trustee has been appointed to the club now…)

Who is competing in this election?

What is competing?

In the elections, on one side, shamelessness and insolence compete within themselves… On the other side, a young person’s dream and a mother’s longing compete… On one side, lies and plunder compete; on the other, the exploited labour of a migrant… Being represented and surrender compete, ignorance and knowledge…

The brutality that says, Stick out your tongue, and the mercy that says, We can both rejoice, let’s look up at the skycompete…

***

This is an unnoble face!

Wandering around nobly…

***

If Professor İlber, who says, There’s not much intelligence behind this betrayal, didn’t take, then let Ahmet hodja, who says, A woman must respond positively to her husband’s invitation to bed, come… If Yavuz Bingöl didn’t work, let’s call on the spirit of Yavuz Sultan Selim, by blowing and blowing…

In any case, let’s win this election…

Bed politics, swamp politics, whatever fate brings you(!)

***

It’s a childish rhyme, but if you read it as an adult, it reminds you of someone…

“Gavrın gavrın gavrıncık…

In the middle, a little pond…

This one caught it…

This one took it…

This one ate it…

This one said, What about me, what about me?”

Now, who will translate this for the gentleman!

***

Hello!

– Why didn’t you meet with the mukhtars, sir?

– The chief mukhtar we appointed didn’t come!

***

How nicely Koral Aşam described it, how aptly he recalled that pithy saying:

You can’t make a whistle out of a wild apricot!

This time, voters are standing up for their personality, their intellect, their future, and their children, regardless of their place of birth. This time, voters are turning to a candidate who can represent them, who can produce democratic, fair, and human-centred politics, and who has strong negotiation skills.

***

Last resort:

Ersin, bring us Sedat.

Not the footballer, but the triggerman…

So he shoots those who don’t vote in the leg!

And let saliva flow from one of his cheeks and pariah from the other…
